Ground broken for new senior center

Participating in the groundbreaking at the future site of the Montgomery County Senior Citizens Center Feb. 28 were, from left, Matt Sawyers, commissioner of the dept. for local government; Mt. Sterling Mayor Al Botts; Judge-Executive Chris Haddix, state Rep. David Hale; Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman; Pam Thompson, the center’s executive director; and Victoria Eldridge, commissioner of the dept. on aging and independent living.
