Evelyn Creech James, 78

Evelyn Creech James, 78, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at UK Medical Center.
Born Dec. 1, 1946, in Hope, she was the daughter of the late Hager and Morine Davis Creech.   A gentle spirit, she was a beloved member of her community, known for her vibrant personality, unwavering kindness, and immense love for her family.  She dedicated her professional life to serving others as a dietary planner at Mary Chiles Hospital, where her compassion and dedication touched the lives of many.
Her nurturing nature extended beyond her work - she was a devoted mother to her son, Jeff James (Tiffany) and daughter, Jennifer James; grandmother to Daven Wills (Katrina Smith), Lauren Donithan, Griffen James, Livia Donithan, Isaiah Donithan and Aiden James; great-grandmother to Sadie Wills and Clark Wills; sister to Wilma James (Hubert White) and Edgar Creech (Areeda). She also had great love for her nieces and nephews. Her legacy of love will continue through her cherished family.
A proud member of the Hope First Church of God, she found joy in her faith and her community.  She was renowned for her incredible cooking, and was often the heart of family gatherings, sharing laughter and nurturing meals that brought everyone together.  Her great sense of humor ensured that smiles were abundant wherever she went.  Her caring nature and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on all who knew her.  Her light will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
 Service was conducted Friday, March 21, at the Hope First Church of God with Pastor Glennis Sizemore officiating.  Burial was in Little Slate Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Davin Wills, Griffen James, Isaiah Donithan, Dylan Highley, Ryan Toy, Brayden Toy, Aiden James and Kyle Chandler
