Raymond Lee Conlee
October 25, 2024
Raymond Lee Conlee awoke in his eternal home in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024.
He was the devoted and loving husband to his best friend of 39 1/2 years, Donetta Conway Conlee. Together, their blended family of seven children was blessed to add 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Born July 29, 1941, in Mt. Sterling, he was the son of Beulah Beetle and Hanley Conlee. He was a distinguished self-taught carpenter, talented sewing machine mechanic, and wood working craftsman. He worked at Cowden Manufacturing for 30 years and was instrumental with the initial start up of Bath Manufacturing in the 80s. He built many houses and businesses throughout his career for Ball Homes, Barlow Homes, and retired building private homes in the local area. He loved God, cherished his family, and enjoyed cheering for the Kentucky Wildcats. His youth was spent playing basketball and this love was carried over to coaching three of his children. Later in life, he was proud to watch his grandchildren and great-grandchild play basketball and baseball as well. He was also a faithful member of Unity Faith Church where he donated his gift to building the fellowship hall. He was subsequently honored with a dedication named in his honor of which he was most proud, The Raymond Conlee Faith and Fellowship Hall.
Survivors include his sweetheart, Donetta; children, Chad (Amy) Conlee, Shan Conlee Jennings, Tonya (Andy) Roach, Crystal Lawson and Teddy (Jessica) Burden; and grandchildren, Natasha Stephens, Ashley Quirz, Justin Faulkner, Victoria Roach, Elijah Roach, Landen Burden, Chase Conlee, Aiden Burden, Hadley, Noah and Aries Burden.
He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Lee Conlee Jr.; a daughter, Kimberly Ann; and a grandchild, Macy Danielle.
Service was conducted Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Unity Faith Church with Pastor Andrew Roach officiating. Burial was in the Fagan Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chad Conlee, Teddy Burden, Elijah Roach, Landen Burden, Chase Conlee and Aiden Burden.
